OOXML

(Office Open XML)

Office Open XML (OOXML) is an open document format standard developed by Microsoft for representing spreadsheets, charts, presentations, and word processing documents. It is the default format for Microsoft Office applications since Office 2007, using file extensions like .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx.

OOXML is based on
XML and ZIP compression technologies, making documents smaller and more accessible to third-party applications. As an international standard (ISO/IEC 29500), OOXML enables document interoperability across different platforms and software. Its structured format allows for automated document processing, data extraction, and integration with business workflows, making it essential for enterprise document management.
