MBR
(Master Boot Record)
The Master Boot Record (MBR) is a special type of boot sector at the beginning of partitioned computer storage devices. It contains the information needed to start the operating system and the partition table for the disk.
MBR is used in older systems and supports disks up to 2 TB in size. It has largely been replaced by the GPT (GUID Partition Table) in modern systems, which supports larger disks and more partitions. Despite its limitations, MBR remains relevant for legacy systems and compatibility purposes.
