ISDN
(Integrated Services Digital Network)
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a set of communication standards for simultaneous digital transmission of voice, video, data, and other network services over traditional telephone lines. ISDN was widely used before the advent of broadband technologies like DSL and fiber optics.
ISDN offers higher data transfer rates compared to analog systems, making it suitable for video conferencing, high-speed internet access, and integrated voice/data applications. Although largely replaced by modern technologies, ISDN remains relevant in certain legacy systems and specialized applications.
