ICANN

(Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers)

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is a nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces and numerical spaces of the internet. This includes managing domain names (DNS) and IP addresses.

ICANN ensures the stable and secure operation of the internet's unique identifier systems. It oversees the allocation of IP addresses, the management of top-level domains (TLDs), and the root server system. ICANN plays a critical role in maintaining the global interoperability of the internet.
