DAI

(Dynamic ARP Inspection)

Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI) is a security feature used in network switches to prevent ARP spoofing attacks. ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) is used to map IP addresses to MAC addresses, and ARP spoofing involves sending fake ARP messages to intercept network traffic.

DAI validates ARP packets by checking them against a trusted database, typically maintained by
DHCP snooping. If an ARP packet does not match the expected values, it is dropped, preventing potential attacks. DAI is an essential tool for securing enterprise networks and ensuring the integrity of network communications.
