AIML

(Artificial Intelligence Markup Language)

Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML) is an XML-based language used to create chatbots and virtual assistants. It defines patterns and responses that enable machines to simulate human-like conversations.

AIML gained popularity with the development of A.L.I.C.E., an early chatbot that demonstrated the potential of conversational AI. While newer technologies like
NLP and ML have largely replaced AIML, it remains a foundational tool for understanding the principles of chatbot development.
