ACL
(Access Control List)
An Access Control List (ACL) is a set of permissions attached to an object, such as a file or network resource, that specifies which users or system processes are granted access and what operations they can perform. ACLs are commonly used in Networking and Protocol to control traffic flow and in operating systems to manage file permissions.
For example, in a network router, an ACL can allow or deny specific IP addresses from accessing certain services. This makes ACLs a critical component of network security and data protection strategies.
