2FA

(Two-Factor Authentication)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two distinct forms of identification before accessing an account or system. Typically, this involves something the user knows (like a password) and something the user possesses (like a smartphone for receiving a one-time code).

2FA significantly enhances security by adding an extra layer of protection, reducing the risk of unauthorized access even if passwords are compromised. It is widely used in online banking, email services, and corporate systems. According to a 2021 report by Microsoft, enabling 2FA can block 99.9% of automated attacks.
